In May, do as you please...

In May, do as you please... "en mai fait ce qu'il te plait" -an old French saying meaning that when the weather is improving (it should do) we can go out and enjoy ourselves.... Please click on the highlighted words for more information and RSVP.

In March I met with various people involved in properties and financial services. I attended various opening of galleries and was impressed by the Stern Fine Arts in Albermale Street and the Olivier Dassault exhibition at the Opera Gallery.

The Network was at Mahiki in March, Après in April and will be at the Eccleston Square Hotel on the 16th May, save the date! This is the Network with a difference.
There will also be a more intimate dinner on the 22nd May

An Agreeable Society for those involved or with an interest in the Arts will meet on the 23rd May at the Royal Institution of Great Britain.

Le Cercle Francophone was held at Leon de Bruxelles and the next one will be on the 12th June .

Rachel Elbaz presented her new delightful collection in her  Knightsbridge boutique.

GPN was held at the Royal Aeronautical Society in March and in April at the Foundry in Camden, the next one is on the 17th May at Chinawhite with Harold Findley talking about his new play about the relationship between  Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol.  GPN also held its first dinner which was a Taittinger Champagne dinner, the next one is on the 29th May at the Eccleston Square Hotel.

I met with people from the Royal Academy of Music with regard to institute an award in memory of Robert Tear CBE for the Arts Club Charitable Trust and visited the beautiful studio and home of Ruth Macdonald in Regents Park where an exclusive private view will be held on the 13th June, save the date.

I also attended Polari for the first time  with Paul Burston as the MC.

The highlight must have been the Eccentric Dinner with HRH Prince Philip who was in good form as when I toasted him replied " I feel better already". The following month we elected the most eccentric people in United Kingdom. Do look at the website.

This month we had a fantastic evening showcasing the artistry and the French Haute Joaillerie of Zoraste and Marchak. I was like a little boy in a sweet shop with fascinating stones  and the wonderful craftsmanship of the best atelier in the world.

I very much look forward to seeing you again and to welcoming you at one of these events.

Yours ever,

Jean-Francois.
